Common questions

How many players can join the server?

We cap servers at 10 concurrent players, which comfortably covers most friend groups. If you need more, email support@stayawhile.gg and we'll figure it out.

Does the server support tModLoader and mods?

Yes — three of our four tiers run mods.
  • Vanilla+ ships a curated 7-mod QoL pack including Magic Storage.
  • Thorium and Calamity are tModLoader builds running those full content mods.
  • Vanilla is the plain server with no mods.

Custom mod uploads aren't supported yet — we currently support curated packs we've tested ourselves.

Can I upload an existing Terraria world?

Not as a self-serve feature. New servers always start with a fresh world. If you cancel and later re-subscribe to the same tier, your previous world is automatically restored from archive. If you've got an existing world from outside the platform you want to bring in, email support@stayawhile.gg and we'll help you import it.

How difficult is setup?

There isn't any. Pick a tier above, sign in with Discord, finish checkout, and you'll have a connection string to share with friends in about a minute. No port forwarding, no config files, no confusion.

Are backups included?

Your world is automatically saved and archived. If you cancel your subscription, the world stays archived and can be restored when you re-subscribe. Point-in-time admin backups (roll back to yesterday) aren't a self-serve feature yet — email support@stayawhile.gg if a world ever needs recovering.
